I know there are a good portion of you that read my blog that are not on the North American servers. I’ve been trying to keep up on the EU/Codemasters issues but in all honestly it seems very strange and nebulous. There still is no definite date or explanation of the delay but I’ll have to admit at least they’re still trying to communicate. I know it is frustrating for many of you but at least it isn’t total silence. There are a few threads over on the Codemasters LOTRO Forums with various posts from CM DNote.
Another resource is to follow Xusia from Mordor or Bust on either his blog or via twitter. Since he plays on those servers, he’s following the situation quite intently.

I’ve been thinking about this for a while now, ever since the WarCry Dev Chat mentioned the fact that Radiance as a system was going away. I first want to cover my thoughts on the current system, what I’d like to see happen, and what I think will happen. And yes, my asbestos suit has arrived in the mail so I’m prepared for whatever comes from this post
As for the current system, I’m actually pretty happy with it. I don’t think the grind to get radiance gear is all that hard at all. Now getting the top tier radiance gear can be more challenging, but the lower tiers really aren’t that hard if you consistently run group content. And that’s the key – you need to consistently run end game group content, which for many (myself included at times) just isn’t feasible. The fact that they’ve opened it up to the 3 man groups makes it insanely easy to find groups to run the content and while it may take you more runs, it still isn’t as difficult for smaller or more casual kinships. The only issue I really have with the current system is that it forces you to wear certain gear to complete certain content. Now we do have more options available with a total of 6 radiance sets, but I really wish there was another way to implement it to allow for more customization.

As part of the "Mordor Or Bust" podcast team, we are always looking for new ways to engage with the LOTRO community. After some consideration, we think we've hit upon a way to allow listeners to have their say directly. I am therefore, very pleased to announce the "Mordor Or Bust" Skype Hotline. This is a voicemail service on a dedicated Skype account, that is available 24/7. You can leave your thoughts and comments, when ever you want. Depending on their suitability, some will feature directly in the forth coming "Mordor Or Bust" podcasts
Do you have a opinion on the current EU F2P situation? Have you just signed up for a free account in the US?. Do you have a question that you can't find the answer to. Is there an event that you want to promote? Are you currently recruiting for your kinship? Or do you just have something that your dying to share? Well here is your chance to be heard.

This episode was recorded September 22, 2010 and we are interviewing John (AKA Galenswerd) of the Lonely Mountain Band during his in-game album release party. We spoke with John last year in Episode 12 and catch up on what he’s been up to.
The first album from LMB is “Beyond the Western Seas” and is currently available at minstrelsongs.com. John informs us that it will be available on iTunes and Amazon music stores in a few weeks.

To continue the Middle-Earth Costumes series, I thought I’d share with you a tutorial on how to make your own elven ears. They are very easy to make, and are a great addition to any costume! Overall, the material for countless pairs of ears will cost you about the same price than buying some in a professional costume shop. You should find everything you need to make these in an art supply store.

The silence from Codemasters is deafening right now. There is a thread now 193 pages long in the EU forums, mostly containing very upset players. The most upsetting thing is not the delay in itself, but the lack of communication from Codemasters, which has lead to a number of different theories on why there is a delay in the first place. Since I am a subscriber, and will let my account just roll into VIP when (if?) F2P comes, i don’t really care that much about the delay. Sure, it would be nice to see the new area, but it’ll come eventually anyway. We did get the welcome back week, at least until recently, and that gave me the perfect opportunity to power-level my Warden.
The Warden class is really cool to play, for several reasons. First of all, there’s a lot of gambits, and even if they can be hard to remember at times, it’s a fun way to test out different ways to play. All the self-healing and morale-leeching gambits really help when taking on high-morale bosses, and the DPS on the spear-gambits actually isn’t that bad. Sure, a Warden can’t keep up with the traditional DPS-classes when it comes to DPS, but for a tank, it’s outstanding. I have now hit 44 on my Warden, and I’m planning on moving into Eregion very soon, first of all to collect the last pages for my book-deeds, but also to get ready for Moria.

During this time, players will be unable to create or amend game subscriptions, purchase premium services, create new forum accounts, access the knowledgebase or access the LOTRO Lorebook. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for you patience.

And in Episode 10 we say that the Lotro Reporter Segment bundles will be in a pack of 8, then 7, and then 5s. This has changed. We are probably going to release the first 10 segments all together and then release subsequent segments in sets of 5.
