When I read exactly what was to be included in Update 7 Shades of the Past, I was quite surprised. However, the more I thought about it the more I found myself agreeing with Turbine’s scope of work. New skirmishes are always welcome (more on that later), but fixing Fornost and Moria finally makes all the games regions fall into line with its F2p requirements. I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who had a good word to say about Fornost as an instance. It was universally ostracised in my kin and once a player had been in there they seldom returned. So revamping this aspect of the game and adding it into the instance finder is ideal. For me it will effectively be new content.
Now I recently rolled a new character along with fellow podcaster Brian. He has joined my kinship, Children of the Sun on Gilrain and we have both discovered that revisiting the game is a lot more enjoyable in a group. So we are currently working our way through level twenty content, although this has been somewhat skewed by the recent XP boost. We have already talked of bypassing Moria and levelling elsewhere in the game. Therefore we were both interested to hear that the Dwarrordelf was to be overhauled. If Turbine make good on their promise to improve lighting, navigation and streamline the quest hubs, then we may well reconsider and journey through that region.
