It may be my slow learning curve, but did something in the facial expressions of the emotes change since Update 5? I don’t remember emotes before the last update resulting in such vivid “aaah”s and “noooo”s from the mouths of my characters. Their eyes go hay-ward and the expression on their faces is really funny sometimes. I know all the moves and motions from all emotes by heart, as I use them all the time in my screenshots, but I don’t remember ever having noticed these funny faces. Is this new since Update 5, or have I just always thoroughly overlooked something?
When I’m not playing my minstrel or lore-master I’m playing with my hobbit burglar, but this is playing in the literal sense as she’s an absolutely adorable dress up girl. I upgraded her burglar outfit, hmmm, well I downgraded it actually as she’s now using the shabby tunic and hat from the Yule festival, ha ha. I almost never use rose dye, but the way the rose colour is absorbed by these “dirty” clothes is really beautiful and perfect for a girl. I found that the crafted dwarf-skirmisher’s boots dye in the same rose hue, and make a wonderful match.

I wasn’t going to title this post “Revenge of the Ninja”, but that kind of came to mind when I created this outfit. Freyjuska created a wonderful Wisdom Seeker with these same new light armour pieces, well I thought these pieces can dress a sinister assassin just as well! I don’t know if Turbine put a hotfix on this, or if I just have a different item than Frey has, but I was able to dye my chest piece without problems. Strange things are happening to our outfits lately… designs get swapped, changed or lost (forever?), armour becomes unbarterable, items go from undyeable to dyeable without any notice. I feel a bit at a loss with all these changes, especially since Turbine doesn’t keep us up to date with information. Are all these changes working as intended or bugged as unintended? We may never find out…

This outfit can be obtained by any level 72+ player**. All the pieces can be found on the Auction House as they drop from the new instances. The head piece and boots are cosmetic rewards from Volume III, Book 5.

Tim “Raskolinikov” Lang is at it again, today walking through the various proposed Burglar changes coming with Isengard. I don’t have a Burglar, so I’m just going to highlight a few things that stood out for me. However, head on over to check out the full article.
Here’s what I pulled out of the article that made sense to me:

Ken “Graalx2” Burd released a Developer Diary today concerning the Burglar class changes that will be coming in the next update, “Echoes of the Dead”. Most of these changes are very interesting changes indeed. Some of the changes include:
- Adding two new stances which will share a cool-down with Mischief, cannot be toggled in combat, and can be used while in Stealth.
- A revamp of Fellowship Maneuvers which will “significantly” increase the damage that they do at high levels. The more complex the Maneuver the more effective the effects will become.
- HoT effects will not break stealth any more.
- Traiting deep into Quiet Knife or Gambler will grant more Stealth speed.
- You will now get +3 to Stealth Detection while in Stealth.
- A new skill called “Safe Fall” which will make the burglar immune to Falling Injuries for a short time. (It will not stop you from falling to your death, however.)

When I wrote the first article on playing the burglar, I had not yet set the format for this series. As a result, the information in my first article on the burglar covered the Footman levels more than the Recruit levels. Despite this, I generally avoided referring to skills you gained after level 20, so there is something to discuss concerning the burglar for this second series.
| Level Range | Name | Number Soldier Skills |
| 20-29 | Recruit | 1 |
| 30-44 | Footman | 2 |
| 45-59 | Esquire | 3 |
| 60-70 | Guardsman | 4 |

It was when I was playing this character that Azz mentioned to me that he was afraid I was burning myself out by leveling alts. I personally didn’t see it, but now that I’ve spent the past several weeks on my Guardian again, I definitely can see it. Not that I don’t love the class; I do. It’s probably one of my favorites out of all of them. But as I’ve stated before I found leveling quite dreary. That aside, I did get the most done with this character because of his ability to breeze through most of the content.
Where the other characters took a lot of time working through things, this character had no problems. With this character I was able to complete all of the quests in Esteldín that were not group related. I was also able to breeze through quite a bit of the content with little issue. It was also playing this character that I learned that all the crafting professions are able to craft a reputation item for different factions located within the game. This is probably something that most players are aware of, but it was a bit of a revelation for myself. I still felt that grinding Skirmishes was more rewarding, but it was good to know that if I had spare resources around they could go towards another aspect of the game other than the Auction House.
