So this year for Lord of the Rings Online Yule fest I have found a definite dearth of holiday spirit. No fault of Turbine’s but I have been feeling meh about it all.
This year Turbine added a new zone for the holidays called “Winter Home”, this is a snow covered area (ostensibly located to the NW of Forochel) which holds quite a few festive (and some not so festive) quests for the season. You don’t get direct awards of Yule Fest Tokens, instead you get Frostbluff Coin items that can either be bartered for festival tokens, or used in quests.

During my continued adventuring yesterday my main character, Branadoc, finally hit level 50! Yep, after 3.5 years of existence I finally hit the Shadows of Angmar level cap and now there are only 15 more levels keeping me from the current cap!… Yay? I might, feasibly, see the current cap before Rise of Isengard is released but who knows right?
Now don’t take my comments above as showing me to be some sort of person who only aims for “end game”. I just want to have at least one level capped character on my account after 3.5 years you know? Then I can focus on my huge bevy of alts and look into all the different quest zones I haven’t experienced (mainly due to them coming out after I had already out-leveled them on my main).

This is the first character update in quite a while I see, well – the name of the site is “Sneaky Hobbits” right? Can’t be all not-sneaky and provide regular updates now can I?
Ok, so the past few days I have returned Branadoc to Forochel because Eregion was starting to wear on me a little bit (I have a few quests marked as solo that I just can’t seem to finish). Forochel is bloody cold of course, but its main annoyance to me is that every single mob seems to give me wounds constantly. I am running through wound pots too darned fast – maybe it is due to how many Beast mob classes there are.

Friday I did some more skirmishing, got some more Spring Leaf tokens and finally, after 3 years of life, got my ‘main’ up to level 45! Only 20 more levels to go… *sigh* well, I will catch up to my kinship eventually eh?
Before I get on with the post, I hope that you lucky suckers (yeah, suckers… *pout*) are having fun up at PAX East.. be sure to visit the Turbine Booth and harangue them for not giving me a free pass/transportation/hotel! Just kidding on the harangue part, but visit our great Turbine folks anyway

So over Monday and Tuesday I managed to do a few Skirmishes – even managing to fail one I have done successfully before :/. Finished off a few deeds with those skirmishes, and moved my way closer to a new level and a new look for my soldier.
The big thing for this week, though, is the Lord of the Rings Online Spring Festival. It started up yesterday and will likely run for about a month or so (no guarantees). Read beyond the break for more.

I was planning on writing this on Friday, but time sort of slipped away
. I did jump back into Lord of the Rings Online Friday and managed to get some things accomplished, I finished off an Armor set and quest line and completed some deeds.
Read on for more! (I break the posts up to keep the front page semi-clean and to keep more posts on it).

So this morning I once again jumped into Lord of the Rings Online and went to work on improving myself. This morning I didn’t do any skirmishes, but decided to try and get through some more quests in Angmar. I also have a screenshot of the swords made for me by a kinship member a while ago, I promised many months ago to put them up here and finally have one so
.

So there has been a bit of an extended hiatus with the posting on this blog, this has mainly been due to a large cluster of non-LotRO related issues that just mounted up. I am slowly getting back into the ‘swing’ of things though, and will once again be updating the blog as I go. I hope that some of the folks that found the blog interesting in the past will continue to enjoy the new posts.
Today I do have a very small tidbit to talk about – I entered Skirmishes for the first time since Mirkwood launched. I, apparently, picked the wrong skirmish to get into after the Tutorial though – I chose Trouble in Tuckborough with my fresh Warrior (My current focus is a 43 Hunter – Branadoc).

Jumped into Lord of the Rings Online during daylight hours today to get some more questing in Angmar done, as well as to take advantage of the +25% XP enabled for the current Welcome Back Week event (Fall Festival is running now too folks!).
I left of last time after completing one of a small chain of quests, today I went to a cave near the camp I was at in order to finish off some orcs and Wargs. I forgot how much I hate the stealthy wargs in this area :/ – I managed to complete the quest, but I still want to explore the cave further; Heres the video of me going through the cave:
