We’re really starting to see a bunch of Isengard information to come out with a couple dev diaries a week. Already we’ve seen the Burglar, Captain, Champion and Lore-master. Which dev diary are you most excited about whether already released or not yet released?
I’m not certain that every class will have a dev diary for Isengard. I have a question mark next to Rune-keepers as we’ve seen no preview blogs about changes to them so not certain if we’ll see a dev diary but feel free to select it anyway if RK’s are what you are most passionate about!

As your warden starts getting into the higher levels and you finally start to get a feel for how to build your gambits, it all gets shaken up once you earn your “Masteries” (Master of the Spear, Master of the Shield and Master of the Fist).
The Mastery traits give you access to gambit builders that apply two icons (spear, shield, fist) for the price of one. These skills will allow you to build gambits much faster once you learn to use them and get comfortable with them. In a lot of ways, learning to use your masteries is like learning every gambit all over again.

Orion is continuing his proposed changes for the Minstrel class and today has a nice summary post of what he suspects will be on the test servers for us to try out first. We have covered the past blog posts by Orion concerning the minstrels here and here in case you’ve missed those. I really think that Orion’s post is pretty clear (if not long) read so I do encourage interested folks to read it.
For my post, I will be focus on changes from the first proposed listings. Orion has taken a lot of the minstrel feedback to heart and has altered the original design to the good ideas from the community. You know what this means. If the changes suck, it’s our fault! (I’m joking save your hate mail). I will be a little out of order from Orions post because I need to spell this out in the fashion my brain can process.

A second blog post covering proposed minstrel changes has been posted by Orion late Friday night followed by a third blog post on Sunday. These posts focuses on traits & trait sets, legacies and ballads.
There’s not much to sum up here as the majority of the post is the listing of traits and trait sets and what they do but I will list them here as well and also add the current trait set for easy comparison. Orion was kind enough to add the comparisons to his update 3 post.

I thought it would be fun to sort some of the characters from the books into LOTRO Classes. I listed the classes in alphabetical order, and then each character in chronological order of appearance.
I give the generic race of each character. I differentiate between the men of the First Age who had been blessed by their association with elves as Edain and the common men of the Third Age. I also broke the Elves down by their sub-races.
I provided my estimation of each characters trait line. Then I quote from one of the books to provide evidence for my classification. And finally a few notes on why I made the selection I did.

Introduction
Many Guardians like to tank using a shield, as do I from time to time. It is great fun to see the bosses and mobs hopelessly trying to penetrate your defenses as you jeer and taunt at them. And winning the aggro war with those hunters and champions is its own sweet victory.
But I have found that a Guardian in Overpower can be a very exciting way to play. They have an excellent mix of DPS and survivability. In fact, I would call it the perfect mix for tanking much of the “end-game” content. The fact that they have about 1200 extra morale due to the 5 morale per vitality, as well as having almost full parry and evade means they are much hardier than Champions. And they have a lot more emergency skills for when things do go bad.

Today, Tim “Raskolnikov” Lang posted a Minstrel Developer Diary discussing the upcoming changes to Minstrel class in the upcoming update (apparently now known as “Update 2”). His overall goal was to enhance the class and make it more viable.
There is a ton of information here, and really there are a lot of great changes. Some of the things that I really liked were the changes to Lay of the Hammerhand, the Ballad changes, and overall all of the changes really seem like they’re going to make the Minstrel class a ton more fun to play.

When I wrote the first article on playing the burglar, I had not yet set the format for this series. As a result, the information in my first article on the burglar covered the Footman levels more than the Recruit levels. Despite this, I generally avoided referring to skills you gained after level 20, so there is something to discuss concerning the burglar for this second series.

Lord of the Rings Online allows you to play nine classes. Each class has its own style, challenges, and role in a group. I am engaging in my own altaholism project by playing several skirmishes with each of these classes.
I will run through each class in four level ranges that correspond to the rewards ranges for marks and bounties dropped by lieutenants and bosses. These are also approximately the same levels at which your soldier gains new skill slots.
