To continue the Middle-Earth Costumes series, I thought I’d share with you a tutorial on how to make your own elven ears. They are very easy to make, and are a great addition to any costume! Overall, the material for countless pairs of ears will cost you about the same price than buying some in a professional costume shop. You should find everything you need to make these in an art supply store.

I will likely take the winter to make the next costume, so i can do something more complicated and thought it could be fun to let the readers decide. See the pictures below that go along with the choices. If you have another idea of a female character in Lotro that could be cool to portrait, leave a comment!

Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post's poll.

The pictures listed below are in the order of the choices.

Here’s a project I’ve been working on for some time now. I’m pretty satisfied of how it turned out, given that it was my first time making baby size clothing. I based my design on the general styling we see in-game and in the movies, but did not copy an already existing dress.

DSC01537As any other hobbit dress, this one is made out of three different parts. First is the shift, second is the bodice and finally is the skirt. I finally decided to add an apron to complement the outfit.

PAXPrime17It’s well known that one of the great things about any sort of nerd based con is all the great costumes people come up with.

Our PAX Reporter, Michael, has forwarded us some pictures of great costumes he’s run into at PAX this year.

Summer dresses have been the new fashion ‘’must have’’ this season, every lassies making it its first purchase of all the items in store. I have to say, it’s definitely one of the nicest dress currently available in-game! As an amateur dressmaker, I started to think how good would this dress look for real and before I knew it, I found my self scissors and pins in hands, cutting, sewing and adjusting a dress.

I’m working my way through trying on all the cosmetics I can in beta so that I have a good idea of what I want to buy when Free-to-Play goes live. You see there is one glaringly obvious flaw with the current beta store and that is there is no dressing room option to look at items before purchasing them. Today we’re looking at dresses, hauberks and pant suits.

Some items are completely new, others are items currently available by other means and others appear to be just a re-coloring of old garments. This post is to focus on the new.items. I do apologize if an item or two already exists somewhere as the descriptions in the store do not mention any other way of finding the item so if there is a cosmetic listed here that is not new, please let me know. Some of the items may be available with new Enedwaith reputation as well as I haven’t explored that fully.

Spring has arrived and 2010 has some new events in store for the Spring Festival. This guide is here to help you discover all the fun to be had and help you earn those seasonal goodies!

The main bartering item for this event are called Spring Leaf. The quests to earn these tokens are repeatable so you can in fact earn enough tokens to get all the goodies the festival offers (granted you have enough time).

There is a deed called “Spring is Dandy” for most of these quests and completing them all will grant you the title of “Spring Dandy”.
