The holiday season is upon us and last year our gift list posts were very well received so we thought we’d do it again this year and share some ideas for gifts to give The Lord of the Rings fan in your life. Some are amazing (and perhaps expensive), some are silly but all are fun!

For Fun

SauronCookieJarSauron Head Cookie Jar (UK Only): £65.00
Presumably for the LOTR lover on a diet. I would have to be pretty hungry for cookies to go near it!

We could only find it on the UK Amazon store which is a bummer as it is pretty darn impressive looking! You guys get all the best cookie jars!

We know this last post comes very close to the holidays and that most suppliers won’t be able to deliver your orders on time for Christmas! If this is the case, I suggest you print a picture of your gift and insert it in a holiday card to be given to your loved one! If they don’t have their box in their hand, they’ll at least have something to open and be happy about!

1. Cyborg R.A.T. 7 Gaming Mouse: $99
Rated 10/10 by Maximum PC, this is uncontestably the best gaming mouse currently available on the market. Solid, completely adjustable to your hand, with 5600 dpi; this mouse won’t let you down!
*Having tried the mouse my self, I have one little small critique to make: the mouse, even adjusted to its minimal size, it a bit large for a women or a children’s hand. Consider this factor if your gaming pc is also the family computer where your children spend a lot of time!

2. Logitech Headset H530: $32
Affordable and comfortable, this excellent mid-price headset delivers the crystal clear sound it advertises. Having a headset is not only a great way to play without bothering the rest of the family- and not be bothered by background noise as well- but also insure you don’t ever miss a thing said by your fellowship members. No more ‘’Sorry, what did you say?’’ in /f chat!
3. Sapphire Radeon HD 5850 Graphic Card: $270
Want to see a real change in your game? Upgrade your video card. You’ll see a whole Middle-Earth that you never thought existed before! This video card has a great price/quality ratio. Not the best you can have, but usually sufficient for the casual gamer. Be sure it’s compatible with your motherboard before buying though! Check out this video to know how to install it yourself.

4. Logitech Z-2300 Speaker System: $115
Wildly acclaimed by the online community, these speakers are a great buy if you’re looking for new speakers. They offer you perfect sound, a separate control you can have next to your keyboard and have nice design. Be sure to have the place for the subwoofer because it’s quite big!
5. Logitech G5 Gaming Mouse: $60
Great purchase for every gamer that wants a significant upgrade from its basic mouse for a reasonable price. Super comfortable, precise and very light, this mouse is a great buy that will greatly enhance pretty much any game
6. Samsung PX2370 23-Inch Monitor: $300
Right, you already have one computer screen, I’m sure. But ever thought about having two? Dual screen setups are great for watching tv, checking e-mails or play Minesweeper while playing Lotro, waiting for a raid or managing your auctions. Very useful for multi tasking!

From the Book: Musical Cracker

In “From the Book” Goldenstar discusses the significance of in-game people, places and things that were part of the book.

Musical Cracker Back in September there was a quest available for you to celebrate Bilbo and Frodo’s birthday. The reward at the end of this quest was a choice of a Flute Musical Cracker or a Dulcimer Musical Cracker.

Now at the time I griped and complained a bit about these items claiming them to be pretty dull rewards. The item made a quick squawk of noise and has a ten-minute cool down. I didn’t understand their significance (apparently I didn’t read the tool tip) and was pretty ho-hum about my gift.
