I think this outfit represents what I like most about outfitting: taking pieces from different origins and creating a new ensemble out of them that matches in colours, style and design. When I started off this blog I created a “fancy huntress” outfit for this character. Today I went back to create another feminine and stylish huntress outfit. The newer Dunland pieces and the old world crafted armour and cosmetics match quite well if you are careful. Not everything matches, and unfortunately a lot of the older armour “clips” with the newer designs, so it’s a bit of trial and error to find something that works, but I can assure you that I find that process much more enjoyable than slapping on a generic pre-made armour set!

This week Goldenstar has been playing with her Dums in Angmar. Her burglar is level 45 and working on her class quests and getting her legendary item.
Merric actually joined us in the Dum group this week and got his warden to level 45. He did a few skirmishes and is working on gathering burglar class items for the lazy Goldenstar.

Today Zombie Columbus was nice enough to post 2 threads soliciting questions from the community with regards to these classes that haven’t had their Developer Diaries released. Not a big focus for me, but I know there are lots of folks out there that play those classes. ZC isn’t claiming he’ll answer everything, but does seem like a valiant effort!

Released today was a Dev Diary by Brian “Zombie Columbus” Alosio, focused on changes coming to the Hunter class with the Q1 update Echoes of the Dead. In it, Zombie Columbus (ZC) notes all the changes that will be coming to the class, but first states his “high level goals” for the class when considering the redesign:
- Keep the Hunter a straightforward class, but add more places for advanced players to excel
- Ensure all three trait lines are attractive and reduce the number of “filler” traits
- Enhance underused skills instead of adding new skills
- General maintenance (bugfixes, tooltip enhancements, new class items etc.

Ah, the Hunter. It wasn’t with more than a little trepidation that I picked up this character and began leveling to 40 with this character after a long stint of going through Enedwaith and leveling reputation with my Guardian. However, after telling Goldenstar that she could go ahead and level her Rune-keeper and seeing her progress with it; I felt that it was time for me to go ahead and move forward with that character. And in the blink of an eye I was level 34.
To say that the Hunter was a breeze to level would be an understatement. The first time I ran Skirmishes with him I felt like I was cheating because it was so easy! Using a Warrior as my soldier (I wanted something out in front of me and decided to go double DPS) really allowed me to get through them with little to no problem.

Lord of the Rings Online allows you to play nine classes. Each class has its own style, challenges, and role in a group. I am engaging in my own altaholism project by playing several skirmishes with each of these classes.
I will run through each class in four level ranges that correspond to the rewards ranges for marks and bounties dropped by lieutenants and bosses. These are also approximately the same levels at which your soldier gains new skill slots.

Today was the lucky day! It wasn’t on Goldenstar but my adorable hunter was the winner of the aged deed.
I think I will be happy with the one skeleton horse and not bother trying to continue getting one for Goldenstar. I was really getting worried that I wasn’t going to get one at all despite my daily attempts!

Hunters are masters of field and forest, unmatched in their dexterity with the bow. They use their survival skills to guide companions and lay traps for enemies. The coming of the Enemy has forced them to adapt these skills to use against new prey. With this in mind let us move on into Mirkwood or soon into Enedwaith. You may want to wait to level 62 to head into Enedwaith but that is entirely up to you.
