OK…. So I’m not really sure if this counts as being “Outside LOTRO” or not, but it seems to qualify in my mind, because even though it’s something that’s used within LOTRO it’s something that’s created outside of the game.  In my mind, this sounds like a rational enough justification to write an article about it!

So what are User Interfaces?  Well, they are “skins” that can be used to customize the user interface within LOTRO.  For those of you who have played World of Warcraft and have use “mods”, these may seem somewhat familiar in their nature, but they do not add functionality; just personality using aesthetics.  In their most technical of terms, they are image files tied together and positioned by an XML file (SkinDefinition.xml) which will override the game’s default settings once selected in the User Interface section of the Options Menu.

In order to better explain them I have created two videos to show how to install and manage User Interfaces.  If you have any questions, feel free to post them here and either I or someone else will be happy to answer them.
