PC Gamers’s Tom Senior wrote an article today concerning concerning some questions that he had regarding mounted combat. He, like many of us, had questions about what the experience will be like, if we’ll be able to upgrade our mounts, and how we actually will go about doing all of this. And although Turbine was a bit reluctant to give him the full details, there are some valuable insights into the system that we are able to gleam from their response.

If there is anyone at Turbine who is good at being transparent about their work it’s Orion. And similar to when he was revising the Minstrel and the Champion classes last year, he has started putting up posts on the changes coming to the Warden class in upcoming updates. Of course he reminds us that everything here is subject to change, but that he welcomes any constructive feedback that he receives.
First off he starts off with a new skill called Battle Preparation which will "…turn basic gambit builders and gambit master builders into skills that require no target and that will be usable outside of combat." The skill will then last until it is used or until 30 seconds has passed; whichever comes first. It will also be only usable outside of combat. To me, this sounds like a very useful addition to the Warden’s arsenal and help get some initial aggro.

I’m very pleased to point out to everyone’s attention, this post today by Sapience giving an official stance of their reasoning for putting low level store armour in the game as well as some responses to the most common fears and comments about the store items and in fact about Turbine in general.
This is exactly what I think we all needed to hear. An explanation, reasoning and fear reducing verbiage about what this new store offering means for LOTRO.

Turbine has some unexpected downtime with their European Customer Support today. Celestrata has posted about the outage on the forums (with translations in the appropriate forums).
