Finally after much delay, the fourth "Contains Moderate Peril" podcast is now available. By way of a compensation it is a somewhat extended episode. Joining me on the show are Brian, formerly of "Mordor Or Bust" and Hex from "Quest Hard". In this packed instalment we look at the following:
  •  LOTRO's 4th anniversary and Update 2
  • HBO's "Game Of Thrones" and Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit" video blog.
  • Gaming burnout and how to deal with it.
  • A selection of your Comments, Tweets and E-Mails.

Due to positive feedback, the latest "Contains Moderate Peril" podcast is available a little earlier this month. In fact a decision has been made to move to a fortnightly schedule. When I say decision, I mean I was brow beaten by Brian, who once again joins me for a somewhat lengthy podcast. In this episode we discuss the twice weekly barter token time locks on some of the new raids in the next LOTRO patch. We also reflect on the successful launch of "Rift" and the issue of server queues. Brian explores cell phone gaming via "Pocket Legends" and we ponder the proposed changes to the combat system for "Guild Wars 2".

Unfortunately due to time restrictions the exclusive interview with screen legend  Danny Dyer has had to be postponed. Hopefully this will manifest itself in the next episode. However, we do cover a plethora of your emails, tweets and comments in our "Views from the perilous realm" section of the show. Thanks to all who took the time to contribute. Please keep the feedback rolling in. It makes Brian feel wanted.

The latest "Contains Moderate Peril" podcast is now available. Once again I'm joined by my friend and colleague Brian, former owner of "Mordor Or Bust" website. In this second episode we look at recent "Bigpoint" survey into gamers self perception versus the traditional stereotype. We also discuss the forthcoming changes to LOTRO in the "Update 2: Echoes of the Dead" along with the final "Rift" open beta. There are also listeners emails, tweets and comments.

The podcasts are intended to be broad in content and casual in their nature. They are fun to record and are intended to inform and amuse. All opinions offered are are own and do not reflect any official view held by the game developers whose products we discuss. There is some strong language used. "Contains Moderate Peril" is a new monthly podcast that expands on the themes of the website. It follows an open discussion format where contributors get to air their views and share their erudition. I do my best to ensure that they are rigorously pumped for information and debriefed. There are also topical reports and emails and tweets from you, the listeners. There are several interruptions from background noise, heavy breathing and a deliberate mistake to keep you on your toes.

My first guests are Bad Panda and Hex from "Quest Hard" along with Brian, the former owner of the popular "Mordor Or Bust" website and podcast. In this debut episode we look at what's coming up in 2011 on the gaming horizon. There's a look at Hollywood's current habit of remaking films, particularly in light of "True Grit" being nominated for an Oscar. We also discuss our thoughts on the recent "Rift" Beta Event and a whole lot more.

The second meeting of "Council of the Unwise" is now available. In this instalment  I speak to Xyderias from "Mordor Or Bust"  and discuss why he chose to end his successful podcast. Once again, Bad Panda and Laird Hex from "The One True Cast" scrutinise several topical issues. These include the final launch of EU F2P, the enigma of "Red Shirt Guy" and subscription versus cash shop business models in contemporary online gaming.

LOTRO's pending transition to F2P on the 10th September, is still a subject of debate and speculation. Therefore, who better to discuss this matter with, than Saruman The White. After all his name does mean "Man of Skill". You can hear my interview with Saruman on the latest "Mordor Or Bust"" podcast, where we explore this and several other points in depth for your edification.
