well after being super-organised and managing to get three posts scheduled to be published while I was away (last week), I’ve now not managed to post at all since I’m back
Our toddler is developing his immune system and catching any bug that floats past and he kindly sometimes passes onto us too
and there is a backlog of housework/washing/appts/errands to catch up on – which is obviously super-exciting for you lot to read
Anyways, should all be settled back down very soon and I’ll be back to posting regularly.

PC Gamer named Lord of the Rings Online their MMO of the Year. Normally, I would be happy to see a game I play and love recognized, but I can’t agree much with their reasons for awarding LotRO.
When it came to keeping us entertained all year long with small updates, plus throwing us the occasional party with huge loads of free content, LotRO treated its fans the best.

During my continued adventuring yesterday my main character, Branadoc, finally hit level 50! Yep, after 3.5 years of existence I finally hit the Shadows of Angmar level cap and now there are only 15 more levels keeping me from the current cap!… Yay? I might, feasibly, see the current cap before Rise of Isengard is released but who knows right?
Now don’t take my comments above as showing me to be some sort of person who only aims for “end game”. I just want to have at least one level capped character on my account after 3.5 years you know? Then I can focus on my huge bevy of alts and look into all the different quest zones I haven’t experienced (mainly due to them coming out after I had already out-leveled them on my main).

Turbine announced today that Lord of the Rings Online is getting a new expansion, Rise of Isengard. The bad news is it’s going to be released fall of 2011.
Level cap is increasing another five levels to 70. It will feature a new region, Isengard, which will include Saruman’s tower Orthanc, and continue the epic quest line. Monster play is getting a major revamp, including opening it up to non-subscribers and adding a new PvMP region.

Being the Sneaky Hobbit that I am, I am springing this post on y’all with no warm-up or intro!
Today Turbine announced that the next expansion for The Lord of the Rings Online will be coming to us in Fall of 2011. The Expansion is named Rise of Isengard to portray our arrival in that fabled area. Here is a short list of some of the features coming with the new expansion pack:
- Experience the Rise of Isengard – The Epic Story continues as the Grey Company makes its way south into Dunland, but troubles arise as their road takes them into lands where Dunlending forces, marshaled by the Wizard Saruman, prepare for war. The Rangers must seek new allies and face dangerous new foes, chief among them the traitor Saruman, whose web of intrigue threatens to endanger your quest, your friends, and your life.
- Increased Level Cap — Players will be able advance their characters up to level 70, gaining access to new traits, virtues, skills and class quests.
- Expanded Monster Play – LOTRO’s monster play system will get a major revamp including opening up the feature to all players, changes to monster player skills and advancement and a brand new region for players to battle for or against the forces of evil.

I was totally ready to make a real post today, but luckily for me Brian stumbled upon something so awesome I had to post about it.
Check out The Bree-land Times. It's an electronic copy of a real newspaper about Middle-earth with contributions from lots of LotRO bloggers.
Being the editor of my college newspaper, I know how much work goes into making something like this, so I think everyone should stop by and give Vatna and Co. a high-five for their efforts. It looks great!
edit: I...
