The November update brought to Lotro players a new option when it comes to dealing with conflict within the game: the possibility to report for harassment. While it is a welcomed feature that was definitely missing from the game, having this new button doesn’t mean it will resolve all your problem with other players.
We currently have three distinctive way to address conflict within the game: You can ignore, report for harassment and report for gold spamming. All three are addressing different kind of problematic situations and choosing the right one is the best way to insure a definitive end to your problems! Senior Game Master Jesenne wrote an informative post about when to report and when to ignore and you can also refer directly to the Code of Conduct to know about your rights as a player. Here are our advices on the subject:

Turbine released today another set of Beta Journals written by some participants in the Beta, this time discussing the revamped starting areas and updated tutorials. These impressions, despite some people’s initial impressions, are written by actual players. However, let’s admit that they are going to be fairly positive since they are hand-picked by Turbine. But despite that, it is interesting to see what some players have to say.

Each week we ask you to share your successes in Middle Earth with the rest of the community. Post a comment letting us know what you’ve accomplished this past week. We will pick comments at random to read on the podcast giving you a chance for a little shout out for yourself!
Our shout-outs are only as good as the information we get so remember:
- Don’t forget to add your character name, what server you play on and if you like, add your Kinship if you have one. Hard to give you a Shout-Out if you don’t include it!
- Please keep your posts brief. We won’t be able to read full novels of your adventures. At least make it so we can easily sum it up!
- Do not be afraid to post any of your achievements. We don’t care if you just saved Archet or cleared out Dol Guldur. We want to hear from you!
These shout outs will appear in Episode 46 of A Casual Stroll to Mordor Podcast.

While reading DocHoliday’s new Warden blog, I started thinking about classes I don’t play and why. I typically stick with ranged/caster classes because I find that I tend to be quite good at them. But can I play melee well? I’m really not sure.
While I’m sure there are some hardcore (or just arrogant) folks out there that can claim to be awesome at every class, I believe the majority of us have a niche. It makes it feel like Turbine made the character for you. You understand its role, and you can execute these roles without problems.
There was a guy Merric and I used to play with who is a super nice person, but made me want to tear my hair out whenever I tried grouping with him. He was just so horrible at it that to bring him along just felt like a wasted fellowship slot. We always did bring him though since he was a good friend and we did like him. He was just really bad player or so we thought. One day he rolled a new character and let me tell you, it was like night and day. He didn’t get his first try but this new class just clicked with him. He was good at it and we went from groaning at having him along to being content and able to count on him. It was wonderful!
