For your information: The following Contains Moderate Peril podcast was recorded without any show notes or traditional preparation. We simply hit record and started talking. Whether or not this experimental approach has any subsequent impact on the overall quality of the product, is up to you to decide.
- Playing the in-game markets : After briefly looking at SWTORs official numbers and Steam being available on mobile devices, we settle in to a debate about playing the in-game market. We consider how the economies of various MMO’s differ and how easy or not it is to earn the funds you need. At present, I’m cleaning up in LOTRO due to Cracked Rhi Helvarch Sigil trading. But in SWTOR it seems that the vendor is your friend. [05:44]

This week we talk about Update 6 Warden information, Riders of Rohan Mounted Combat, Bullroarer and more!

This week Goldenstar’s Monday Dum Group is finishing up Volume 1 quests (hopefully now done in Forochel). She did extra credit so her burglar followed along and got some reputation items for the hated lossoth. In other news, Goldenstar the minstrel is level 74.5! Actually she’s now level 75 but during the broadcast she was not quite there.

As January draws to a close, we find that there’s no shortage of topics to discuss in the podcast. This time we cover a variety of subjects from the cancellation of BlizzCon, the success of BBCs second season of Sherlock and the announcement of the new Riders of Rohan expansion pack for LOTRO. Brian and I are joined by Lisa this time round for an hour of discussion and debate:
- Weekly Summary: Brian has made Star Trek Online his MMO of choice and continues to rediscover the game. Lisa hobnobs with Twitter celebrities. I continue with my ongoing struggle to earn credits in Star Wars: The Old Republic. [00:58]

This week we talk about the new expansion Riders of Rohan coming Fall 2012 and the news of what is coming with Update 6.
Goldenstar is still struggling her way through Rise of Isengard. She is very disappointed that despite effort on her part she’s still level 72.

After some experimentation over the last few months, Brain and I have decided to stick to the current show format. Two main topics that are discussed for about thirty minutes a piece. Once again we try to tackle subjects that are recurring conundrums within the gaming community. Remember that we are always open to suggestions so if there are any specific issues that you would like covered, then let us know.
- Weekly Summary: Brian hits level cap in SWTOR and raises the subject of Restless Gamer Syndrome. I have been playing The Lord of the Rings: War in the North and then digress into a ramble about how it’s important to like and empathise with the character that you play in a game. Which is the reason why I uninstalled Assassin’s Creed from my PC. [01:58]

This week Brian and I decided to tackle two rather big issues in a little more detail than usual. We are joined once again by Jonathan, who adds his unique perspective to the mix. The first topic for discussion is something that most gamers have an opinion about, regarding the standard of behaviour of other players. We also look at the addition non-cosmetic armour to the Turbine store, as it has naturally provoked such a strong reaction from the wider community.
- Weekly Summary: It appears to have been a busy week for everyone. Gaming has been a major feature along with the second season of a certain popular BBC drama, based around a well known literary detective. [00:52]

Goldenstar has been playing with her Monday Dum group. We are working on Volume I epics and also ran a Trouble in Tuckborough skirmish. Tried playing Goldenstar a bit more but still is only 71 so far.

Here is the first Contains Moderate Peril podcast of 2012. Brian and I get straight on with the matter in hand and continue doing pretty much the same as what we were doing last year. Namely, discussing what we are currently playing and also looking at wider aspects of this popular and growing industry.
- Weekly Summary: As usual, we recap what we’ve been up to in the last week or so. Obviously due to the recent holiday period, there has not been quite as much gaming as we would like. [00:41]

There is very little LOTRO news to report this week but we shared what we could and then talked for 40 minutes about stuff.
This week Goldenstar’s burglar is working on epics, Annuminas and had a bad run of one of the Angmar battle instances.

I’ve been pretty quiet lately and that’s mainly due to a lack of playing time with real life and a packed holiday schedule. But the end of the year usually is a pretty quiet time anyway, so there really wasn’t all that much to write about anyway
I just wanted to toss out a quick post letting folks know what I have in store to kick off the new year:
