While most people read the announcement of RoR (pronounced RAWR! by me) and thought that it was awesome, I was left with more questions than answers. This is because I recently got added on to CSTM for a PVMP article and have been thinking in PVMP mentality for the last few weeks. I was going to post my first issue of “How to be a Monster” and then RoR got announced. After reading from multiple sites, I could not shake away PVMP questions about RoR. I decided that while the news was still fresh I would write about how this expansion could change PVMP forever.

I saw a short dev update on this, so I wanted to share it. Turbine has made a mess of creep-side mitigation in recent history by breaking them in Update 5, “fixing” them with Update 5.1, but that fix really didn’t quite work. Many on the forums had been reporting that, and finally we hear confirmation that there’s still an issue. Kelsen posted today that they know there’s an issue and they plan an upcoming fix to restore creep mitigations to the pre-Update 5 levels. Essentially the fix they tried, didn’t work the way the wanted it to and there’s still more to do. However, there’s no word on when that patch might see the servers.
I know this doesn’t solve anything, but at least they acknowledge the problem and are planning to fix it soon.

This weekend, our Game Masters will be back in the Ettenmoors! This time, however, they’re fighting in the name of the Free Peoples! We’ve heard your feedback from last weekend’s events and this weekend’s event will have a few changes. Our GMs will not only be more powerful, but they’ll also be bringing their own backup!
GMs will be appearing randomly across all servers. Please keep in mind they are there for the event and not to address support issues, please direct all support requests through the normal channels.

There has been quite a bit of change lately with Isengard, and I wanted to put up a post that combined some of that for folks.
First up, for those of you out in Dunland you may have interacted with an NPC Andred out in the Gravenwood. Personally, I had a horrible time trying to find the last two quests (the set is part of a deed) so I’m sharing the snapshot below to show you where I was standing when I was able to get these last two quests:

Jared “Kelsen” Pruett has delivered one of the first of apparently several PvMP themed Developer Diaries concerning changes to the system in the Rise of Isengard. This post specifically focuses on the changes to the Free People’s side (Freeps) and what players can expect once the expansion is released.
First up, there have been some changes in Freep Quests in order “to help remove some of the hurdles involved in PvMP progression…”

I have to admit, I was expecting a little more from this Diary as we really haven’t heard anything regarding threat changes with regards to all the DPS changes. I guess we’ll have to wait and hope they scaled them both appropriately as we progress to 75. Graalx2 gets the privilege of sharing this diary with us on the upcoming changes to the Guardians. He does try to ease the crowd by saying Guardians and Wardens will be able to tank just as effectively as Champions, and again to re-iterate my fears, I’m just not sure they’ll be able to out threat the DPS.
For the most part it seems like Guardians are getting a similar treatment to Burglars in that the class is pretty well set up. The main change they’re getting is a boost in DPS, but not in an obvious way:

Hi everyone! This is Iinferno of Elendilmir (or Don if you’d rather call me that). I’m a huge moors addict, and love writing, so when I stumbled upon CSTM a while back I noticed a distinct lack in moors related content. More recently I wrote CSTM asking if they had need of a new writer and when they let me in I thought this would be a great time to fill in the gap in pvp content.

I’m assuming these like the various class changes, will be rolling out with the Isengard expansion but we shall see.
Before I just into the Freep side, I did want to mention some of the creep changes. I say mention, as I don’t know jack about Creeps so I’ll keep it brief. But the big news is that with Isengard, free players (subscription reference, not game reference) will be able to join in the PvMP battles with the Reaver class. Other classes will be available in the store – which is also noteworthy since it signifies the store coming to the creep side as well. In addition to this news, Kelsen also posted notes on 2 of the creep classes:
