In continuing coverage on Update 5, Justin “Syp” Olivetti has written an article covering an interview he did with Adam Mersky, Aaron Campbell, Jeff Libby, and Joe Barry.  In the article he not only covers the Instance Finder (including a screenshot of the UI!), the upcoming Epic Book, but also the fight with Saruman himself!

Of particular interest to me were the quirks that Justin talked about that come along with the Instance Finder; specifically that you can’t seem to choose a specific instance when you queue up in the Instance Finder.  Instead you pick a category and once everyone is matched you get ported to a  dungeon.

Wanted to take a moment to draw your attention to a brand new podcast about gaming that you may be interested in!

Too Long; Didn’t Listen is a podcast hosted by Syp of Bio Break / Massively (you’ve heard him on CSTM a couple times) and our very own Merric, although he’s going by his real name Dodge (yes, that is his actual name). This podcast is being brought to you by the MMO Reporter Network!

TLDL is a short 30 minute podcast dedicated to discussions on two hot topics in the gaming world.

albumart This week we have special guest Syp (aka Justin Olivetti) from the Massively “Road to Mordor” column as well as his own blog Bio Break.

Work has been kicking our butts lately so had Syp not been the star of this week’s episode, the title of this week’s podcast most likely would have been “Week of Fail”. Merric didn’t get time to prep and publish the Warden Roundtable like we said and Goldenstar had forgotten to put up the player achievement post and at the time of recording had not created a new weekly poll!

First, go welcome @Sypster to the Twitter world. Mwahaha. I hoped he wouldn’t be able to resist. (That’s Syp from Bio Break, as if you didn’t know!)

Then hope we have the same success with our anti-Elf campaign (which isn’t so much a campaign as a hatred for elves!).

Um, second.. I will be blogging this week. But in the meantime go read unwize’s write-up of our success in Dark Delvings (if you play LotRO, don’t mind spoilers and are interested in Moria instances that got harder in Book 7). It was odd to spec a very hybrid Captain with actual proper DPS and to return to having a herald… but it worked remarkably well. More on respeccing sometime!
