January 30th is the final day of the Yule Festival! Make sure you turn in all your tokens and buy up all the goodies you were hoping for this weekend.
All the yule festival items including the horses, costumes and furniture will not be available again until next year! The tokens will not expire so if you simply wish to put a stash in your vault until next year, that will work!
Our 2011 Yule Festival Guide is available to make sure you haven’t missed anything!

This is a guest submissions sent in by Millros Broadbelt of the Bounders of the Shire kin on Landroval on getting through Winterhome daily grind as quickly as possible.
With new yule cosmetics available with update 5.1, thoughts have turned back to Winterhome quests before the festival ends. The problem is it can be a bit of a grind and you don’t want to spend precious gaming time when you could be doing other things. If you plan your route carefully through Winterhome though you can be in and out in an easy 15 minutes, leaving plenty of time to do other things in your spiffy new clothes on your spiffy new horse! This is the route I’ve found to be the fastest through the Winterhome quests, getting through everything in 2 “laps” and with the absolute minimum of doubling back.
When you land at Winterhome head straight into the upper gate and speak to guard Kember. Pick up the Abominable Snowbeasts quest (you aren’t so mean as to want to tell the beggars to move off for money are you? No, didn’t think so, good!) then head down the main street, past Ona Kay, to the workers area.

Shortly after posting about the new cosmetics, it was discovered there is also a new steed available!
Ketani was kind enough to collect enough tokens (after spending them all on the new cosmetics) to obtain the horse as well. She is modeling the mount with the new cosmetics on as they go nicely with the new horse.
The horse costs the typical 20 Tokens, 1 Race Token and Document of Mount Ownership. In your mount panel it will be listed as the “Yule Festival Snowy Horse/Pony”.

This week we had a ton of news between Update 5 launching, the treasure-hunt event and yule festival starting soon!
Goldenstar went to Carn Dum again this week and shared her awesome “get stuck behind flags” skills. Dumidum enjoyed this game as well and even posed for me for this picture! Other than that, we are working on Volume I once again.

I know many have already gotten their fancy blue dress clothes but my hunter just received her set today and I thought I would share it with everyone.
I was incorrect in my guess it was tied to charitable deeds quest. The quest is called “Good Deeds at Yule-Time” and is from helping the poor by doing the quest Self-Sacrifice: Support the Poor during Yule Festival. It is only from helping the poor (there is no helping the rich equivalent). This was a final quest after earning Honoured Yule-friend. You were offered a chance to help the rich or the poor citizens of Winter-home.
The quest for the Frostbluff Cosmetics of Thanks triggered 40 days after helping the poor in Winter-home. I looked it up in my log and I had finished “Support the Poor” on 12/23/10 and got the quest for the blue cosmetics today.

In a post on the forums by Fredelas, it seems we may have found the elusive blue festival clothing on Bullroarer in the latest patch. I know at least Kiarane, Ketani and I were frantically searching for this costume and it’s great to think it is coming with Monday’s patch. This blue outfit was displayed in the official Yule Festival screenshots and we couldn’t figure out how we earned it!
